Faysal Aziz Khan is included among some of the most seasoned professionals in Pakistan’s media industry.

He completed his undergraduate and graduate education from Karachi University in 1997. Over the course of the next 17 years, he went on to build an enviable portfolio in print and broadcast journalism by acquiring first-hand experience in reporting, editing, content development and a number of other subfields within journalism.

He also played a significant role on the production end in various collaborative projects, documentaries, current affairs programs and campaigns in addition to organizing teams to ensure the timely delivery of quality content. Over the course of his career, Faysal Aziz Khan has interviewed a number of eminent personalities, including Late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, former presidents Gen. Pervez Musharraf and Asif Ali Zardari as well as other senior political personalities.

Additionally, Faysal Aziz Khan has played a significant role in training new talent in journalism. He has conducted trainings for numerous television channels in addition to being GEO’s official trainer for news content production and reporting. He has also worked as a trainer for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and Pakistan Press Foundation initiative as well as numerous non-governmental organizations. Faysal Aziz Khan has also taught as a visiting lecturer at the Karachi University, Szabist and Jinnah University.

Faysal Aziz Khan began working as a reporter for the Nation and Nawa-e-Waqt newspapers in 1996 where he specialized in reporting on the judicial, education and business sectors. He became a staff reporter for the Daily Jang an year later and spent 5 years covering the courts, political and IT beats as well as taking on the additional responsibility of feature writing for Midweek and Sunday Magazines. He rose to become GEO’s youngest Bureau Chief in 2002. He executed the responsibility with exemplary dedication by not just playing a significant role at the managerial level but also overseeing the training of junior reporters, correspondents as well as the field teams.

He was awarded the Pakistan Media Award in 2013 for Best Investigative Journalism. He received the Leadership Award from the Association of Television Journalists in 2011 and the Best IT Reporter award at the ITCN, Singapore, in 2002. He also won the prestigious Best Reporter Award given by the Karachi Union of Journalists in 1999.

Received Numerous Trainings

Over the course of his career, Faysal Aziz Khan strengthened his journalistic acumen by acquiring a number of high profile trainings. He participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program, organized by the U.S. State Department on promoting transparency in government and fighting corruption in 2011 as well as the ‘Training of Trainers’ organized by Freedom House and Forum Asia, Bangkok, in 2012. He participated in a month-long training in newsgathering, editing and reporting conducted by the Turner Corporation at the CNN Center in Atlanta, USA. He also attended CNN’s workshop on Live Coverage and Packaging Production held in Karachi, Pakistan.
